This is a project for which WACC is currently seeking a co-funding partnership.

CISRS is an ecumenical organization deeply committed to the social witness of the church in India. Through research and publication on contemporary issues and concerns, CISRS has succeeded in providing new visions and perspectives to the church in its search to become a meaningful presence in India. Today communal forces are making their inroads all aspects of community life and inculcating hatred among various religious and ethnic communities in India. Media is one of the most powerful tools misused to propagate communal hatred among people. This project envisages a series of workshops for theological students on New Media Literacy and Alternative Media Production. Participants will be oriented to utilise their skills, perspectives, and expertise when they are posted to rural congregations on completion of their course. Follow-up work will evaluate how far they assimilated the necessary skills and were able to translate them into media literacy at the local level.
