Taking Sides
Training workshop for women journalists in North-Kivu (RDC) Drucken E-Mail
There are no translations available.

Eastern Congo is a theatre of confrontation between different militias and government forces as well as numerous foreign soldiers and mercenaries. Violence against women is common, large numbers of people are internally displaced, and it is difficult to mobilise public opinion to hold political and military leaders to account. In this project, women journalists will be trained to tackle some of these issues and to contribute to radio broadcasts aimed at creating awareness of the problems women face and how to lobby the authorities. Two advocacy visits to regional government centres are also planned.
