Taking Sides
Peace journalism in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon Drucken E-Mail
There are no translations available.

The project seeks to highlight the challenges for media professionals arising from the violent conflicts in the Middle East and aims to develop strategies that support peace-building efforts in media coverage of situations of tension, conflict and war. FDCD will conduct research to analyze the present situation of media in Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon. Participants in the project will engage in field visits, workshops, discussion groups and training sessions in peace journalism, in support of efforts to react responsibly to situations of violence. In this way FDCD will empower young media professionals to transform existing negative patterns in order to avoid fuelling existing conflicts and strengthen peace-building efforts. The journalists’ experiences will be recorded and portrayed in a documentary.
