Children from economically weak families in the North West Region of Cameroon continue to be victims of trafficking scams. Their exploitation through domestic services, sales attendants, and commercial sex in all the major cities in Cameroon and the Central African region is a daily practice. Most come from backgrounds where post primary school enrolments discriminate against girls. Mainstream media in Cameroon give limited coverage to stories about working children. Law No 2005/056 on child trafficking is not widely known in this region. GLOWA will carry out a survey among working children in the localities that supply most child labourers. It will create a voice space through radio programs aimed at exposing trafficking scams in order to build safety nets around potential victims within trafficking prone communities targeting children in the final year of primary education and other vulnerable children.
