The Mexican mass media are largely subject to a monopoly of political and economic interests. There is a clear bias in their handling of news and information. Very few citizenship communication and information initiatives exist in South-East Mexico, making the situation worse in this part of the country. The Asociación Ecológica Santo Tomás intends to create an alternative space for information using audio and video media, specifically in the State of Tabasco. By means of this project, the group intends to open up ecological and environmental issues to public discussion and to promote alternative solutions to the problems that will benefit those living in poverty in the region Contact: C.
