Created in 2004 the Lubombo Community Multimedia Centre (LCMC) is a multimedia centre which uses communication and new information technologies as a way to address the development needs of the community. It operates an information technology (IT) unit to facilitate access for the population as well as a community newspaper, a community resource centre and has plans to operate a community radio. LCMC’s main aims are to entertain, inform and educate the community with multimedia programmes; to support and promote all community initiatives and development projects through multimedia programmes; and to provide a forum for communication that is accessible to all people within the area of coverage and to promote a culture of oneness in the community.
