Promoting Communication for Social Change
Taking Sides
Taking a Holistic Approach to Christian TV in Egypt Print E-mail
Due to the fast growth of the Christian TV sector in Egypt, not much time has been spent reflecting on what makes a production a Christian production, let alone on what productions should be made based on Christian principles of communication. This project will encourage Christian TV makers in Egypt to take a holistic, ecumenical approach to different social issues. Mediahouse will organise a one-day workshop in Cairo; make the Teen Shawky Awards: a Christian TV production award in five categories: children, youth, documentary, drama and talk show; produce two annual newsletters by e-mail with stories, news and information that are relevant to those working in Christian media; and develop and maintain a website with online discussions and bulletins.
