While ECREA enjoys access to the new technologies and information, the programme wishes to share this ‘information’ accessibility in this new age with the different communities that ECREA works with. Most of these communities are poor and marginalised but willing to learn. The idea of a ‘telecentre’ to provide services to these communities has been identified. ECREA feels that it is extremely important to provide communities with training and access to information through internet, telephones and fax. While ECREA agrees that roads, sanitation and safe drinking are the priorities for some of these communities, it also believes that access to information and telecommunications are as equally important.
