Creative Centre for Communication and Development (CCCD), Zimbabwe, seeks to address the failure to recognise and uphold communication rights. This has resulted in the violation of basic rights and other fundamental freedoms leading to loss of life, illness, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, and other serious infringements of human rights. This project plans to empower 30 HIV positive women and 30 girls to be better advocates of rights. The activities include: a community mobilisation meeting to raise community awareness of the project; six training workshops for each target group to build life-skills; the establishment of three creative communication clubs; weekly advocacy workshops; one communication rights dialogue session; networking activities; resource development, dissemination of information; and quarterly press briefings.
