WACC organises the landmark conference “Women Empowering Communication” together with Isis International and the International Women’s Tribune Centre, in February 1994 in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference leads to the Bangkok Declaration, which underlines the need “to promote forms of communication that not only challenge the patriarchal nature of media but strive to decentralize and democratize them.”
