In a post-war broadcast to Germany, Bishop Bell appeals for a genuine return to Christian goodwill. “No nation, no church, no individual is guiltless. Without repentance, and without forgiveness, there can be no regeneration.” A memorial plaque bearing these words can be found in Chichester Cathedral (photo).
