05 Jan 2024 WACC launches webinar series about ethical use of AI

WACC has launched the webinar series “AI, You, and Your Organization” to offer social justice advocates an ethics-based approach to the use of artificial intelligence.

“Artificial intelligence has been headline news since the launch of ChatGPT over a year ago, with many claiming that it can save you time and money,” notes WACC Deputy General Secretary Sara Speicher, who is coordinating the new e-learning opportunity.

But AI also brings questions with it, especially for communication rights advocates, she notes. “How do we use AI ethically? And how do we avoid costly mistakes?”

WACC designed “AI, You, and Your Organization” together with AI expert Dr Erin Green, owner of The Joyful Bot, to bridge this knowledge gap.

The three-part, English-language webinar series is tailored for individuals and organizations wanting to better understand artificial intelligence and how it should – or should not – be used in our personal and professional lives today.

The hour-long webinars feature an expert presentation, with an opportunity to link to experts following the session. Each webinar is being held twice on the same day to allow for greater participation from the different WACC regions.

Course fees are US$9 per webinar and US$25 for all three webinars. Paid registration includes access to session recordings following the webinar. WACC members receive a discount of a third off the regular course fees.
