Detailed diagnosis of the operations of 21 community radio stations in the conflict-torn region of North-Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in the context of its general media environment. Results: identification of structural problems and training needs that impede the functioning of the stations; plans for capacity-building elaborated using a participatory methodology. Based on this diagnosis, capacity-building for the editors in chief of 17 radio stations focusing on the theory and practice of peace journalism, the production of 6 microprogrammes of 3 minutes duration on contextualised themes, and a training module. The CORACON network and commitment by participants to use peace journalism techniques to contribute to peace-building in the region were stengthened.
