Climate change, caused by human activity, is threatening the lives and livelihoods of billions of people and the existence of millions of species. Tackling climate change is a matter of social justice requiring urgent and radical action. As Indian environmental activist and eco-feminist Vandana Shiva has pointed out, ‘There can be no ecological security without climate justice. Equity is a precondition for sustainability. We will live together or die together.’
